Tim commenced his career in the recruitment sector, and later pivoted into industrial relations, ultimately undertaking internal positions with BHP &amp;amp; Santos. Tim has successfully managed Union relationships across mining, oil and gas, engineering and construction operations, navigated HR &amp;amp; employment law disputes, and ultimately developed a speciality in managing higher risk cases and executing major changes to workforces via restructures and organisation design. Tim has gone on to advise small to large organisations in many sectors, and created a service facilitating career transition counselling for senior and corporate executives.

           Until the pandemic, workplace surveys highlighted the labour force’s desire for flexibility and work from home privileges. With COVID forcing flexible work to become BAU across all sectors, the labour market is now showing signs that it is predominantly driven by wages.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

            With this in mind, Tim advised that many companies are still undertaking costly initiatives to present Employer Value Propositions based on employee benefits. Unfortunately, the value of such add-ons to candidates is dwindling, organisations that have the capacity to re-allocate budget spend to wages will be the successful ones to attract the best new talent. At least in the immediate term. Tim noted that whilst it is still important to promote the fundamental value proposition of your business, he recommends focussing on what you’re already good at rather than what you’re working towards.
